I have been doing therapeutic and sports massage for 30+ years, working with people ages 2 to 100, weekend warriors to Olympic and Paralympic athletes.
I graduated from Seattle Massage School in 1989 and practiced in Seattle, WA for 12 years before moving to Colorado in 2002. I am licensed in the state of Colorado, board certified (BCTMB), a certified manual lymph drainage therapist (CMLDT) and a member of the American Massage Therapy Association (www.amtamassage.com). I also am a parttime instructor at Front Range Community College/Larimer Campus in the IHP department.
I specialize in injury treatment, pain management, sports massage (novice, professional, and adaptive), prenatal and postpartum health, and children with special needs incorporating the Masgutova Method (www.masgutovamethod.com). I have also studied St. John Neuromuscular Therapy, Manual Lymph Drainage, and am trained in Kinesiotaping.
SPORTS MASSAGE EXPERIENCE
After graduating from SMS, I began working with adaptive sports, beginning with Amputee Soccer International. I organized sports massage teams for the World Cup in Seattle in 1989, 1990 and 2000, as well as in Tashkent, Uzbekistan in 1991 and England in 1998. I am currently part of the USA Amputee Soccer medical staff as the team Sport Massage Therapist.
While working with the Seattle Supersonics NBA team, I also worked with their Wheelchair Basketball team, which lead me to work with a Paralympic wheelchair racer. I organized a sports massage team for the Jr. National Wheelchair Games in 1998 in Seattle, and volunteered at the 1996 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Atlanta, and World Disability Athletics in 1998 in Birmingham, England.
